Onion Records, a Jazz FM co venture first approached Chris Bangs about recording an album for them in 1999 when Mark Doyle ( later head honcho at Hed Kandi and Fierce Angels ) met with Chris to discuss the project. A deal was agreed and Bangsy started writing the album's original songs and producing the 2 vocal covers "You Know How to Love Me" & "Warm Weather.
Chris assembled a red hot combo of UK musicians to help out on the project. Brass from Andy Ross (sax) and Dave Priseman ( Trumpet and Flugel ) , Nigel Price on guitars , Janette Mason on keys and Rita Campbell on vocals and laid down the tracks at his SIG Studios in London. Forming a seamless fusion of Bangsy's Jazz Funk stylings with the slick production standards of smooth jazz radio stations.
The album came out to excellent reviews and received immediate success on jazz radio , both in the UK and the USA. Warm Weather sounded great blaring out on Jazz FM radio that summer and this led to it getting a remix from Mark Doyle and getting signed to SONY / Inc-Redible records.
